the principles of how to get bigger arms
If there is one body part every guy wants to improve it’s his arms. I don’t know a single guy out there who would say “no I don’t want sleeve stretching arms.” Of course the ways the “pro’s” teach how to get bigger arms are ineffective, otherwise you would’nt be reading yet another article about it because you would already know how.
I shouldn’t have to tell you that the methods used by huge bodybuilders with 22 inch arms simply don’t work for natural athletes. In this breif list we will talk about how to get bigger arms for real men who don’t use steroids…
- Most guys falsely think that doing 3-4 exercise for both bi’s and tri’s is how to get bigger arms. This is too much volume, especially if you work chest and back the same day you train arms! As with any other muscle group overtraining will slow your muscle mass gains like nothing else. when talking about the smaller muscle groups of the arms this rule is even more true. When I tell my clients that the optimal volume for training the bi’s and tri’s is around four to six sets they lose their minds. That is 4-6 sets total per workout, not per exercise! This is because you are more than likely performing arm movements on the same day as chest and back and come to think of it, there are days were 2 to 3 sets would be enough. I have found that for most guys 2-3 sets on a day were you are also working your chest back and shoulders to be enough stimulation for the arms to grow without over working them. This is because the relitivley small muscle groups of the arms will already be taxed from your larger upper body movements like bench and pull-ups. In these cases very little direct stimulation is needed. Stimulating the muscle to grow without over training and recovering completely before your next workout is crucial to these smaller muscle groups, witch brings us to my second point.
- If you can stimulate a growth response with a lower volume of training you can work the muscle more frequently. You can actually work your arms two to three times a week when using less volme in your individual workouts. This is 12 times a month as apposed to old tired body part splits your probably used to seeing in the muscle mags were you only work your arms once per week. How to get bigger arms is through less volume and more frequency.
Ok, These are the basics of how to get bigger arms. Give yourself 4 weeks of honest training 3 full body workouts, includiong your arms a week and see the best gains of your life!
