NFL Preseason Betting Favors Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys will probably be the most overhyped squad in NFL betting.

The Cowboys are liked by gamblers placing an NFL preseason bet. The Dallas Cowboys are the -125 fave to win the NFC East in NFL preseason odds. The Washington Redskins are thought to be the dark horse when you bet on the NFL while the Giants and Philadelphia Eagles are given a chance to win the division.

NFL preseason probabilities show Philadelphia at +250 and the Giants at +275 to secure the NFC East. The Redskins are the 5-1 long shot. Since they added wide receiver Dez Bryant in the NFL Draft, most of the recognition in the division is on the Cowboys. The Dallas Cowboys are a marquee squad but they are still a squad that has a head coach in Wade Phillips who does not know how to succeed in the playoffs and a secondary that looks vulnerable.

The Philadelphia Eagles will have a new starting quarterback this year in Kevin Kolb. He has competed with the Eagles since he was drafted in 2007. Nonetheless he didn’t get a whole lot of activity until 2009, when he became the 1st quarterback in league history to toss greater than 300 yards in each of his 2 career starts. He was furthermore titled the NFC Offensive Competitor of the Week, and this season the Eagles are demonstrating their trust in him by providing him the starting quarterback position.

Running back Mike Bell, who was with the Super Bowl champ the Saints last year, is 1 of a few nice additions that the Eagles made in the off-season that might support them. Bell was signed to the Eagles in March 2010 with a one year contract worth $1.7 million. The important thing is certainly whether or not Kolb can replace Donovan McNabb. The Philadelphia Eagles were becoming older and they made a number of moves in the off-season that placed them in a greater position to contend this season and in future years.

Head coach Tom Coughlin is under strain to win the division this season since the New York Giants were a major disappointment last season. Perry Fewell is the new defensive coordinator that the Philadelphia Eagles have brought in, and they made a nice pickup getting Antrel Rolle from the Cardinals. Fewell was formerly the interim head coach of the Buffalo Bills. Rolle was signed to a 5 year, $37 million deal. The Giants need a commitment to defense that wasn’t there last season, and a rebound season from Brandon Jacobs.

The Redskins are most likely the most fascinating team in this division in NFL preseason probabilities with all of their changes. They have a new head coach in Mike Shanahan, ex – Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb and a myriad of other new participants. The team added Jammal Brown from the Saints, Willie Parker from the Steelers, Trent Williams in the draft, Larry Johnson from the Chiefs, and a number of participants on defense. They do have to cope with Albert Haynesworth and his attitude but overall the Redskins look vastly greater proceeding into 2010.
